| Hungary Climate and Weather Hungary is best visited over the summer period when the weather is warmer and all the attractions are open. The weather in spring and autumn can be very pleasant, but temperatures drop to around 20°F (9°C). During winter, temperatures approach or fall below freezing point. Some rain can be expected throughout the year.

In general, winters are cold, cloudy and damp or windy, and summers are warm - sometimes very hot indeed! March, April and November are the wettest months. The number of hours of sunshine averages 2209 a year - among the highest in Europe. From late April to the end of September you can expect the sun to shine for about 10 hours a day. August is the hottest month (average temperature 21 C) and January the coldest (-2 C). |
